2020 ANNUAL CITIZEN AWARDS
We know this has been a challenging year for many, there have been many who have struggled in our community, we have all learned to adjust and adapt and to do things a little or a lot different than before. However, with the hardship, also comes those who have stepped up and did great things to make a difference in the lives of others. Now is time to celebrate those individuals, organizations, and businesses. The St. James Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for their annual awards from 2020. Each year the citizens of St. James recognize someone who has volunteered their time and energy to help our community be a better place, this year we know there are many who deserve this recognition. The award categories are:
Citizen of The Year: Think of that person or couple who you’ve seen this past yar always see helping others or volunteering their time, whether this is at church, in the community or for an organization here in St. James.
Business of the Year: Can you think of a business this past year that has given unselfishly of their resources and their time? One whose employees you see involved in the community over and over again.
Organization of the Year: This award will go to an organization that represents St. James in a positive light and promotes our community. Think of an organization whose members give of their time and volunteer to make St. James a better place for us all.
Lifetime Achievement Award: We are looking for a special individual who consistently throughout their lifetime have given to their community in innumerable ways. Their contributions could be in a variety of ways that demonstrate their love and concern for the community and for others.
Future Leader of the Year: This award will go to a youth or teen who shows an eagerness towards volunteering or making their community a better place. Someone who has made a positive difference in the lives of others.
Chamber Volunteer of the Year: Members of the Chamber Board of Directors or a Chamber Committee will nominate a volunteer that went above and beyond to help at our Chamber organized or supported events.
The deadline to submit a nomination is Monday, February 1, 2021
